For offtakers, distributors, and processors

Bulk cashew supply from Ghana

We process cashew at our own facility in Sunyani and quote per metric ton against your grade or your written specification. Tell us the product, volume, destination, and timing, and we will tell you plainly what we can commit to.

Where we are today, stated plainly

Everything we supply right now comes from our existing operation, which is manual, and goes to the Ghanaian market. We do not export yet.

The new mechanised line is built, delivered, and installed — but it has not been switched on. Commissioning is the next step. Any capacity figure on this page is what that line is designed for, not output we have demonstrated.

So: talk to us about volume and timing before you plan a shipment around us. We would rather agree a small first order we can actually deliver than take one we cannot.

What we supply

Products we quote on

Cashew in testa is available now in large quantities, and paste is available by enquiry — both from our existing manual operation. Kernel and piece grades follow current stock, so we confirm against real stock for every quote rather than promising a grade we cannot show you.

Process

What happens between the sack and the carton

All of it under our own roof, with our own team. This is the sequence the new line is built around — until it is commissioned, the same steps are done by hand.

  1. 1

    Intake and drying

Raw cashew nuts arrive in jute sacks, are weighed, checked for moisture and defects, and stored.

  2. 2

    Steam cooking

Nuts are steam-conditioned in pressure vessels fed by our boiler, so the shell separates cleanly.

  3. 3

    Shelling

Cooked nuts are cut and shelled to release the kernel with as few breakages as possible.

  4. 4

    Drying

Kernels are dried on trays in a steam-heated Borma oven to bring moisture down to a safe, stable level.

  5. 5

    Conditioning

Kernels are brought back to around 6 to 7 percent moisture in the humidifier, so the skin releases cleanly and fewer kernels break during peeling.

  6. 6

    Peeling

The testa — the reddish skin — is removed. Kernels can also be supplied in testa, before this step.

  7. 7

    Grading

Kernels are sorted by hand into whole, butt, split, and piece grades. Grading is done by our team rather than by machine.

  8. 8

    Roasting and paste

Graded kernels are roasted, or ground into paste, depending on the order.

  9. 9

    Packing and dispatch

Product is vacuum packed and gas flushed for shelf life, labelled by lot, and loaded for delivery.

Trade terms

How we trade

What is settled is below. Capacity is given the way the industry gives it: metric tons of raw cashew nut going in per day, with the weekly figure in brackets. Anything not listed here — minimum order, lead time, packing format — is confirmed at quotation rather than guessed at on a web page.

Default terms
Ex-works Sunyani, unless delivery is agreed separately
Quote currency
GHS for Ghana-based buyers. USD can be discussed for international buyers once export terms are confirmed.
Quote validity
7 days, unless stated otherwise on the quotation
Transport
Delivery to Tema, Takoradi, or elsewhere can be arranged and quoted separately
Capacity today
0.6 metric tons of raw cashew nut per day (3 tons per week), processed by hand
Capacity when commissioned
5 metric tons of raw cashew nut per day (25 tons per week), by design
Loading port
Tema, for export shipments once terms are agreed

Grades

The grade language we quote in

We sell and quote by the kilogram and the metric ton. The W-grade names themselves are defined internationally by kernel count, so both counts are shown below for reference — the lower the number, the larger the kernel.

We quote against these grades or against your own written specification. The confirmed grade for an order comes from inspection and lab results on the actual lot.

GradeKernels per kgKernels per lbTypical use
W180375-397170-180Premium retail, gifting, high-value packs
W210441-463200-210Premium retail and specialty food service

Broken and piece grades

B — Butts

Kernels broken crosswise, less than 7/8 but not less than 3/8 of a whole kernel.

S — Splits

One half of a kernel split lengthwise, with not more than 1/8 of that cotyledon broken off.

LP — Large Pieces

Piece grade used by bakeries, processors, confectionery makers, and paste manufacturers.

SP — Small Pieces

Smaller piece grade for food manufacturing, toppings, inclusions, and grinding.

Chips, baby bits, fines — Small particle grades

Used for paste, flour, toppings, coatings, and industrial food applications.

Testing

Tell us which of these your market requires and we will build them into the quote and into the Certificate of Analysis for the lot.

  • Moisture content
  • Aflatoxin
  • Defects and kernel count
  • Foreign matter
  • Mould, rancidity, and off odour
  • Pesticide residue, on request
  • Microbiology, on request
  • Packaging integrity and shelf-life suitability

Pricing

Price is by quotation, and here is why

We price per kilogram and per metric ton, ex-works Sunyani. Cashew price moves with the raw nut market, so a number published today would be wrong next month — we quote a firm price against a specific order, and it holds for 7 days unless the quotation says otherwise. Send us these seven things and you will get a real quote rather than a range.

  1. Product and grade, or your own written specification
  2. Quantity in kilograms or metric tons
  3. Packaging format and whether you need private label
  4. Destination country and port
  5. Incoterms and delivery window
  6. Tests, certificates, and export documents you require
  7. Payment and inspection terms

Buyer questions

What buyers ask us

What is your minimum order?

It depends on the grade and the packing format. Send us the product, quantity, and destination and we will confirm the minimum for that order.

What is your processing capacity?

Like the rest of the industry we measure capacity in metric tons of raw cashew nut going in per day. Today we run 0.6 tons a day (3 tons a week) by hand. The new line is designed for 5 tons a day (25 tons a week). That second figure is a design capacity — the machines are installed but have not been run yet, so we will confirm real throughput after commissioning rather than quote you a number we have not proved. Kernel output is a fraction of the raw nut weight, since most of a raw nut is shell.

Can you fill a container?

Container-scale supply is what the expanded facility is being built for. Tell us your target volume and delivery window and we will tell you honestly what we can commit to and when.

What can you supply right now?

Cashew in testa is available now in large quantities, and cashew paste is available by enquiry. Kernels and piece grades depend on current stock and the production schedule, so the grade for any order is confirmed at quotation from inspection and lab results on the actual lot.

Which grades do you quote against?

W-grades, broken and piece grades, cashew in testa, or your own written specification — whichever you work in. Grading is done by hand by our team, so tell us the specification you need and we will tell you honestly whether we can hold it consistently at your volume.

How is the product packed?

Vacuum packed and gas flushed, in units from 1 kg to 25 kg, which protects the kernel and extends shelf life. Carton configuration is agreed per order.

Do you export today?

No. We supply the Ghanaian market from our existing operation, and the new line is installed but not yet commissioned. We would rather say that than promise a shipment we cannot make. When we do ship, it will load from Tema.

How is the price set?

By quotation, per kilogram or per metric ton, ex-works Sunyani unless delivery is agreed separately. We quote Ghana-based buyers in GHS; USD can be discussed for international buyers once export terms are confirmed. A quotation holds for 7 days unless it says otherwise.

Can we visit the factory?

Yes. Buyers and their agents are welcome in Sunyani, and we can arrange a video walkthrough beforehand.

Can you do private label?

Yes, for roasted and packed product. Send us your artwork, pack size, and labelling requirements.

What documents come with an order?

Packing list, lot identification, and a Certificate of Analysis for the confirmed lot. Export documents are arranged per shipment and destination.

Can we send our own inspector?

Yes. Third-party inspection before loading is welcome and we will schedule around it.
